How to convert LUMS to LUMX available at server ( BI Platform) BOXI4.2 SP4 with Lumira 2.0 SP2

Hi,

I have few *.lums ( Lumira 1.31.6) documents in BOXI4.2 SP4 server with Lumira 2.0 SP2 Add-on. Now to download & migrate those old Lumira docs to new *.lumx version, I am trying to connect my Lumira 1.31.8 client to BI Platform. But client is not showing me *.lums files in BI Platform. As a result, I am not able to download the Lumira docs to convert.

I am getting below message:

“You have connected to SAP BI Platform with newer version of SAP Lumira Server for BI Platform that is not compatible with your version of SAP Lumira. Saving your document to this server may render the document to be incompatible with your version of SAP Lumira. Please contact your SAP BI Platform Administrator”

Please let me know how can I access and convert my old lums document to lumx document in this case.

Regards,

Hi @Animikh,

Which type of connection are you using for your lums documents.

As if those are connection to SAP HANA DB (S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, HANA Live, etc) you can not import them.

See note: 2522622 - How to update Lumira 1.x Documents to Lumira 2.0

There you have the next annotation:

"NOTE: Migration of HANA direct based Lumira documents is not supported!"

This is because Lumira 1.x connect to HANA DB trough OLAP connection type INA, and as far as I know, Lumira 2.x is connecting with a different type of connection (HTTP I think).

Those are the only type of connection you can not migrate, but I still have to test if I can open (unzip) the .lums file and change the connection type in any way.

Hope this could help you.

Thanks Hernan.

I guess you have pointed out the problem correctly. I have OLAP connection to S/4HANA system. So is there any workaround to recover my old LUMS file now?

I have only one environment. Hence I cannot transport to other system and try.

I have LCMBIAR file with me. Can I unzip the file and retrieve the LUMS file locally?

Please suggest.

Thanks Tammy.

But figure 15 does not telling me the steps to import LUMS file from Lumira 2.0 SP2 server. The problem is: I cannot see my LUMS files from Lumira 1.31.8 client after login to BOXI4.2 SP4+ Lumira 2.0 SP2 server.
