Simple finance - Activate open item management in the exsisting GL

Few months ago one of my client implemented simple finance and now realize that they want some GL accounts to be maintained as open item. Below threads were noticed,however not applicable in Sfin.. Please suggest a solution. Thanks and appreciate.

fagl_activate_op is not supported in sfin systems

Have you received any solution for this? I am also getting the same issue in SAP HANA.
