How to exclude public holidays in factory calendar?

Hi Experts,

Any idea on how to exclude public holidays during the calculation of lead time while creating Purchase orders.

    Hi Vimal

Do you mean that you need to take Holidays into account? Or is every day a working day? Your question is a little tricky as I'm not entirely sure what you are requesting. For the Factory Calendar just don't assign a Holiday calendar to it then Public holidays (that have been included in the Holiday Calendar) will not apply. But if you are meaning that you want the holidays too apply (meaning no deliveries can take place on that day) then you will need to ASSIGN a holiday calendar ID to the Factory Calendar.

I have attached picture for your information.

    Thanks & Regards

    • Hi Phil,

Normally when we maintain lead time in info record it will populate while creating PO. For example if lead time is 3days,if i create PO on Monday ,delivery date will be on Thursday. And if any public holiday falls in between (Ex:Wednesday in this case) still delivery date will be Thursday. Client have a specific requirement to exclude Wednesday(public holiday) and to make delivery on Friday ( Infact 3 working days).

Please advise whether this can be done in the standard.

It does only partially matter if your plant is closed on Wednesday for a public holiday, and this is usually if the calculated delivery date would be Wednesday and you would either receive a warning message or the date would be shifted to Thursday.

But the planned delivery time for a purchase order is just calendar days and not work days.

    • HI Jurgen,

But the planned delivery time for a purchase order is just calendar days and not work days.

The above point is absolutely clear. But is there any setting that it should consider only work days.

Requirement - Client is providing liberty to the vendor to take ample time for processing delivery since public holiday is applicable for him as well. Keeping the point , delivery date is non-editable in the client.

You would need to modify the standard code if you want it be workdays.

Or a z-report that changes the planned delivery time in the material master if within the specified delivery time is a public holiday. E.g. using current system date the existing delivery time from material master and checking the plant calendar for holidays. You have to use a Z-table to store in which materials it was changed to avoid that the change is carried out again with the next run. You also need to look backward to return it to the old value once the current date is beyond the holiday, also removing the material from the z-table.

It depends upon your settings of factory calender.

Create your public holiday, then assign it to your holiday calender and then configure your factory calender. Be sure you have not ticked this option:

For a testing purpose, I have created one public holiday and tested it on PO, check the result.
