Hi,

I wanted to know what is the best way to migrate ECC 6.0 windows oracle 10.2.0.2

database to MSSQL 2005 platform.

Source and target systems should be the same except database.

If it is heterogeneous system copy then will it be possible with SAPINST method.

Best Regards,

AjitR

Hello Ajju,

When you are changing either the OS or DB in SAP, you will have to follow OS/DB migration path. This will involve export / import of the database. You can find useful documents on service marketplace for these tasks.

Thanks for answer.

But my question is does this export import is the same Export - Import we perform with SAPINST method ( like for homogeneous system copy ) ?

--- database independent method

Or something to do with database tools ?

Hi Ajju,

Yes you do the export import from the SAPINST.

Its heterogeneous system copy.

So you need to spesific the target database during the export.

You can find the documentation in http://service.sap.com/instguides

Its will explain the step-by-step also some taks your need to perform before the export.

Hope this can help your.

waht impact? sapinst will invoke r3load which will export the database contents in an independent format (which could be used for almost any database/operating system combination sap supports)...the only impact during export is that your sap system is down...
