Client export and import

HI,

As part of the business requirement , we are asked to do a client export from Quality and create a new client in Developement as copy of that.

So i have created a export of the client with SAP_ALL profile which turned to be some where around 400 MB.

i am wondering i have to create a client copy with SAP_ALL in that client from 000 in developement before i import these exported files from QA or i can create a new client in Developemnt and import the files directly.

Thanks,

Tanuj

HI,

1.You can do the client copy by remote or export/import client.

Remote method is not preferred if you are doing a large client copy.

Do a client export/import.

2.To speed up the export/import, use R3trans export/import for the clustered tables

3.Do import and post processing.

Hi ,

I have already exported the client.

Now my question is do i need to do a client copy first in the target system from 000 and then import these exported files on top of it ( or)

Just after creating a new client import the Transport requests and then do post import processing.

Thanks,

Tanuj

Hello Tanuj,

as far as I know: you create the client in target and then import the requests in the newly created client.

Look at point 2 of the help:

Hi

As per my information , you do not need to login to client 000.
