Hello,
I have following problem:
I have created manually Item hierarchy in BI (for 0CS_ITEM).
I want to replicate it in BCS with "Load from data stream".
I have created in Consolidation Functions -> Data Collection -> Load from Data Stream method with mapping move for all attributes.
I can use function "Execute" from contex menu but it looks as test only.
I have tried to assign it to a task, but I can not find this method in task customization.
Could somebody help me with thiis problem?
Thanks,
ak
Hi,
You'd better create manually item hierarchy in BCS first and then replicate it in BW.
But, anyway, loading of FS items into BCS using data stream may not be full-fledged.
Here:
you may
1. See why it is not full-fledged
2. See why you cannot load data (SAVE is mandatory)
3. See the link to the blog where you may find some steps of FSI flexible loading.
If you want to execute the task from the monitor, go in UCWB to Consolidation Function > Data Collection > Method and assign there the load from datastream method you just created. Then in Consolidation Function > Data Collection > Task create a task and assign the method you created one step before to it.
And, of course, assign the task to the monitor hierarchy and execute in UCMON.
BTW, now you may post SEM-BCS-related questions in BPX-CPM forum.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
thanks for that - it was very helpful. I share your opinion that it is better to configure hierarchy in BCS and replicate to BW - When I used Load from Data Stream it copied hierarchy to BCS but all nodes were upside-down and I had to correct them manually in UCWB.
I have a question regarding execution in monitor:
When I go to Consolidation Function > Data Collection > Method what Data Stream and data Collection Procedure should I use - I do not see any which could be suitable for this purpose. I have tried with some combinations but afterwards I could not find my "Load from Data Stream" method in method column.

Andrzej
Hi Andrzej,
It's really somewhat confusing.
So, I meant you go through the following steps:
1. Create a method for loading from datastream -- Consolidation Function > Data Collection > Load from Data Stream.
2. Consolidation Function > Data Collection > Method -- Create a new method or add to the existing one the load from ds method created earlier: create a new row -- Data stream column = Totals record, Data Collection Procedure column = Load from Data Stream, Method column = the ID of the method created in step 1.
3. Consolidation Function > Data Collection > Task -- Create a new task or reassign to the existing one the method created in step 2.
Hope it'll solve your problem.
Hi,
I have tried to do like you said but when I press F4 on methods column there was not my "Load from Data Stream" method (HIE1). Then I typed it in and tried to save. Following error occured:
"Data collection method X2: Method HIE1 has an inappropriate data stream
Message no. UCFT612
Diagnosis
You have assigned method HIE1 to data stream Totals Records in data collection method X2. However, HIE1 is not valid in this data stream. (For example, you cannot assign the data stream investment data to an upload of documents.)
System Response
The Customizing settings cannot be saved.
Procedure
Assign a suitable method to data stream Totals Records in data collection method X2.
My HIE1 method is for data type "21 Items" and char. "/1FB/CS_ITEM"
Do you have an idea what could be wrong?
Regards,
Andrzej
Hi Andrzej ,
As you can see, you may assign data collection reading from datastream methods to DATASTREAMS. CS_ITEMS have no their own datastream, as well as the other MASTER DATA. Loading of master data, very often is ONE-TIME operation. So, there is no need to create a datastream for master data.
You cannot assign the reading master data from datastream to datastream of totals records or any others.
Use the loading of master data from the workbench (and don't forget to save the data, as was desribed earlier in the link).
