how to send emails in Solution Manager with System Monitoring

Hi there

I've managed to set-up the early-watch alerts, and service level reports, and both of them send an email to my email address as soon as it is done, but what i can't seem to figure out is how to configure Solution monitoring -> System Monitoring to send an email as soon as a alert happens (i.e a red alert for disk space) to notify me of this alert.

I would like it to to be able to send an email as soon as a red-event happens, without having to be in solution manager?

Is this possible and how?
