Unable to change/delete activity type

Hi.

I wanted to change the date of the activity type from range 10/10/2016 - 12/31/9999 to range :1/1/2016 - 12/31/9999

I have followed the instructions mentioned here:

But despite following the instructions I'm unable to change the dates.

Also I tried to delete the activity itself, even that is not allowed in the master data. How should I proceed?

Path:

SAP Easy Access -> Accounting -> Controlling -> Cost Center Accounting -> Master Data -> Activity Type -> Individual Processing -> Create.
