I wonder why nobody upvoted this. It's the single answer that allows me to log in to client 800. All other answers just don't work.

Hi Gang,

Normally for a undistributed system you would find 3 profiles under the tcode rz10.

Default, Instance (Eg: SID_DVEMGS00_HOSTNAME), Start. You can add the parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar with value 1 in the Instance or the Default profile. and restart the SAP engine.

If you are unable to see anything under the Profiles in RZ10 click Utilities>Import Profiles>Of Active servers..in RZ10 and save the entries.

Let us know if it helped you...and reward points to all those whose answers helped you..

Cheers,

Prashant.

Hi Gang,

NO

you have to change in instance profile whose name will be like SID_DVEBMGS00_HOSTNAME.

Hello Gang,

Logon as sysdba if its oracle and delete the sap* user from the database.

If its MS SQL use SQL Query manager.

Use this command "delete from <SID>.USR02 where BNAME='sap*' and MANDT='800'".

Go to OS level access instance profile by going to folder \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile set

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0

Save that file and restart sap instance. Then logon using SAP* and password pass.

Thanks & Regards

hello Vivek,

I find there is DEFAULT.PFL, is this SAP's profile?

I logon to client 000, use RZ10, I can not find any profile.

Hi Wang,

When you install a new server you need to import the profiles from RZ10, then you can see the instance profile.

To import profiles goto RZ10 -

>utilities----> import profiles--

> of all active servers.

then choose instance profile and change the above said parameter and login with sap*.

Hari.

Hey Gang,

You need to edit this profile in Instance profile.

In SAP you have three profile files Default, Instance and Start.

You need to enter that value in instance profile.

You can do that at OS level.

I have given the complete path where the file is located.

Open Instance profile in Word pad and enter this paramter and Save.

Restart your instance.

Thanks & Regards

Hey....

If you are still facing this error wherein you cannot login to one client whereas you can login to another client....

There is a trick for this....you can write a client copy script which infact copies the user-master data for a particular user in a paqrticular client(in you case 000) to another client (your case: 800)....

Let me know if you need this script...will be happy to help you...

Cheers!

Hi Gang,

You only have to set this parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar to 0.

this will activate sap* w/o user master recoed and you can access the cleint with PW pass.

You have to take a restart of SAP instance after setting the parameter.

Hi,

If none works correctly, activate sap* kernel user with the parameter login/automatic_nologin_sap_star(dont remember correctly) and login with sap, pass then change ddic and change SAP password,

Now you can login. But remember you have to restart the system.

yes this is your last option, change the following parameter to 1 and resrart the server.

login/no_automatic_user_sapstar=1

then log in with sap* and password"pass", then create sap* and DDIC users.

how to change this parameter and create user?

execute RZ10 tcode.

select instance profile in profile field.

select extended maintenance and click on "change" button.

again click on "parameter" button.

you can select the parameter name in the "parameter name" field, by searching.

change the value, and save it.

and restart the server.

enter as sap* with "pass" , and change the password.

Hi,

Did changin the parameter help you?

If not then you can delete the Users on table level from your database and then they will be recreated with the default passwords.

Hi Gang,

You can try passwords of sap*and DDIC whcih are in client 000 as client 800 is a copy of 000.

Award Points if helpful

Hi Wang,

Your standard sap*, DDIC passwords(which workeds in 000) should work in 800, check is anybody changed it?.

Hari.

In case of cal.sap.com YES, for client 000, the password is set that you gave when creating the appliance.
