QAS->PRD

Hello Everyone!!

We have a 2 system landscape.

[ DEV ( having dev and qas) and PRD( having prd client only) ]

1).I was wondering if its a good idea to perform a client copy from DEV's QA client 300 to Production client 500 with a SAP_ALL profile ?

OR,

2). Second alternative is that we are planning to transport customizing and workbench requests from 300 to 500, and after that copy 300's master and transactional data into 500. (Also, which profile will be suitable for this option- should i use scc8 or scc9 for this ?)

I'd like to have your feedback over these two alternatives that which one could be implied, or you can offer your own option as well.

Your feedback will be appreciated.

Thank you and regards,

Muzammil.

ps: we're going for these options to get things done ASAP.

Hi Patel,

You can do in both ways but before that discuss with your functional consultants about the test data which is created in QAS client? If you follow any client copy this test data will come to production.

The best option will be transport the cust. & workbench request's to PRD, then you upload the master data in to production.

Here is some document which is help ful in understanding Client copy.

Thank you Hari.

But I'd like you to comment on this too. Don't you think making a full copy of a client at PRD will interfere with SAP's support at a later stage cuz you know its a production client.

Patel,

There will be no issue in getting supporting support from SAP. They will ask you to open the connection of required system like DEV ,QAS or PRD, during that you will mention the client no.

Hari.
