Why Is Max(Date) not returning the latest record in BO 3.x Infoview Report?

Hello Gurus,

I have a situation where I need to display the latest record using the Max(Date) function. Instead, the result I'm getting is the latest record for every category in the block. :-( I've tried a bunch of stuff with variables and filtering and then finally turned to google. Unfortunately, I've remained stuck.

So I have 3 fields: Est#, InspDate, StatCode. When I throw them in a table I get every record:

When I use Max(InspDate), instead of getting the latest record for each est, I get the latest record for each StatCode as shown here:

What am I missing?
