Inconsistence between IW41 and IW44 for confirmation

Hi SAP Guru,

For Control Key PM02 setting below, I found an issue of inconsistence.

For PM02 operation, if you do confirmation via IW41, it says:

If you do confirmation for multi order via IW44(IW38-order-confirmation-collection confirmation), that operation is available for confirmation.

If possible would you please simuate this issue on your side to see if the same behavior happens?

If yes, it means the inconsistence between single confirmaion and multi confimration does exist in the program

If not, it is the config difference.

Hi Sally,

As we replied earlier, unless you set the confirmation required in configuration, the operations will not be considered in IW41. This is how my system behaves and I dont think there is any inconsistency.

Now, if you want confirm answer, you can raise a OSS note to SAP, they can provide a solution or work around or it is standard.

Message RU097 = No open operation requiring confirmation exists for order &

This is pobably becasue there are no operations in the order that have a valid Operaton Control Key (e.g. PM01).

A PM02 Operation Control Key does not require confirmations (as per your image). The "Confirmatiion possible but no necessary" field isnt active for PM. And the "Externally processd operation" setting te s the system that this operation is for external purchases, not confirmations.

I dont think the behavior is abnormal, because IW41 is used for Time Confirmation particularly.

If you want to confirm for PM02 activity with service, then use IW42 instead. Because IW42 (Single Order) and IW44 (Multiple Order) will behave in the same manner.

Let me clarify a bit.

For PM order with a single opeartion PM02, if I run IW41, it goes well saying no operation available for confirmation.

If I do confirmation in IW44 or IW38-menu-order-confirmation-collection confirmation. the operation pops up for confirmation, which is inconsistent to single order confirmation.

I expect the 2 should be the same bahavior.

If your control is set with "Confirmation Required" then only it will be available in IW41 transaction, even though service is active.
