REM to Discrete

Hai PP Functionals,

I have one doubt during the conversion of REM material to Discrete material.The scenario is just i created the material as a REM material that means i activated the REM indicator,Entered PV & REM profle in MRP 4 view. I created only master data. Now i want to change the material from REM to DIiscrete. For that i tried to change the material in MRP 4 view, but i could not change.

So what is the procedure to change the material.

Please share your valuable replies.

Hi ganesh,

i hope you have just created material and Assigned PV and REM profile. In that case first delete the production version and remove the REM indicator and profile.

To delete the PV goto MRP-4 and select your PV and delete.

When i am doing like this system shows the following error.

Production version 0001 or repetitive mfg indicator cannot be deleted.

If any Run schedulers exist for the material or if you had confirmed production using the production version then system will not allow you to delete the same unless you settle the PCC.

Close all the orders, settle it pertaining to that material.

I created only master data.I didn't run MRP. There is no Pld ord,Prd ord.

Hi,

Go to the Production version details and remove the REm allowed check box,

Then try deleting the REM version and REM check box in MRP-4

Dear Mr.Ratan & all PP Gurus,

I found one way to delete the PV. In Material Master(MM) costing 1 tab page, select the PV & delete.It deletes the PV all MM views. But this only possible w/o any orders for that material means no MRP, no PCC.ie.,at initial stage. Then you remove REM indicator & REM profile in MRP 4 view.

Am i correct? Pls back to me if you found anything wrong.

Hi Ganesh,

Go to MRP4 view , select the product version and in to details and then uncheck the REM allowed check box.

Then proceeed to removing the REM and REM profiles indicator in the same view.

No need to delete the produciotn version.

Hi Ganesha,

I think that would entirely delete the PV from the Material master, if that what you are looking for that is fine.

Other wise there are cases when we want to use PV without REM, in such cases go to C223 and uncheck the REM allowed check box,

hi ganesh,

i hope your problem has been solved. still you donot want to use the production version , u can just lock the production version in Mrp view, after uncheck the Rem allowed check box.

so the PV becomes inactive for further use.

Hello, have you created some Cost collector or order?

Can't you just erase the REM indicator?

Have you got some error or warning message ?
