Business Partner = User

Hello,

At the moment I try to understand the need of a business partner. Is there somewhere documentation about the general use of business partner?

In addition I found a lot of documentation where an automatic creation of business partners is mentioned. But without a clear “HowTo”.

Best Practice:

Is it wise to create for each Solution Manager User a Business Partner with the same ID as the user? Is there a procedure available to create a business partner at the same time as a user is created? Maybe in combination with the central user management in a complete sap framework?

Hi Manfred,

BP is concept on which Service desk is based upon.

All the user existing on satellite system wil have business partners(general or key user) so that they can create message.

Where all the message processor in solu;tin manager service desk will have BP(Employee)

OR

The Service Desk scenario in the SAP Solution Manager system requires the following business partners:

A "Person" business partner defined with the following roles:

"General" and "Employee" for key users (creators of messages)

"Employee" for message processors in the Service Desk scenario

An "Organization" business partner with the "Sold-to Party" role

goto solman SPRO->initial config->Service desk and issue tracking->key user doc tab

Here you can click the doc tab and view the sap doc and need of key user message processor, sold to party etc.

Also, how to create them automatic and manually.

Please reward points.

Hello all,

when I create Business Partner automatically as described above the Business Partner ID is given automatically by the system.

How can I maintain the system to use the User ID as the Business Partner ID?

Is a 1:1 mapping between a Business Partner and User ID a smart solution? Any Best Practice ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Manfred,

Automatically generating the same is Basis activity which i haven't done but manually i have generated and let me share the same.

How can I maintain the system to use the User ID as the Business Partner ID?

If you create manually BP Employee identification tab,you have emp data tab in which..field.. USER NAME you have to provide the userid of the people concerned which helps in your mapping.

where as BP General identification tab is different than above bec of their use.

Secondly, the standard practice is to use all the userid unique across your landscape.

Please reward point if it helps.
