Hi All,
We are looking for information on when our SAP available.log file available under work directory is overwritten.
Is there any size limit after which this file get overwritten or any SAP activity like migrating to new server is the only way of getting this file overwritten.
Please suggest.
Shivam
Hi Shivam,
Basically, there is no size limit for this file. Since this is a very simple log to help measure our system availability. In Configtool it is not listed in cluster-data >> template >> log configuration >> destinations. So there is no way to configure the file size, type etc.
I checked a few logs and even for 3 years old servers the size of the file is 12 KBs. So this is not a log file that is growing rapidly and would cause you issues.
Can I ask the background of the question? What are your concerns related to this log file?
Thank you,
Emoke
