AIX DB6 SAP 4.6B 32bit UPGRADE TO LINUX DB9 ECC 6.0 64bit

Hello DB2 experts,

I have some questions concerning an upcoming upgrade.

I will have to perform an upgrade on AIX DB6 SAP 4.6B 32bit to a new machine LINUX DB9 ECC 6.0 64bit.

My plan was

1. Install Linux 64bit on new machine

2. Install DB6 64 bit on new machine + Install SAP

3. Move database (32bit to 64 bit) + change active DB

4. Upgrade to DB8.2

5. Upgrade to DB9

6. Upgrade SAP

a) Is this a correct way ? Who has experience in this and maybe can define a better way to go ?

b) Can I simply copy the AIX 32bit DB2 DB to the LINUX 64bit DB2 ?

The best way would be to move the DB6 DB directly under the DB9 DB but apparently this is not support ? Is this correct ?

c) If paths etc stay the same how hard is it do attach the DB to the running installation ?

(system copy guide ?)

I'm counting on your expertise as I am new to AIX/LINUX and DB2.

Thank you guys for your time and response.

Kind Regards

Hans
