Solution Manager 7.2 Process Modeling Capabilities and PowerDesigner

Good Morning All,

We are using PowerDesigner for process modeling and Solution Manager 7.1. We are planning to migrate to SolMan 7.2.

Could you please let us know if SolMan 7.2. provides all capabilities of process modeling that are provided by PowerDesigner? e.g.

  1. Are the features of Process interactions available (i.e. in addition to process-step interations)?
  2. Can we simulate a process?
  3. Can we define Master data for the process?

Thanks

For points 1 and 3, see the BPM guide - via PD Help, or as a PDF - the default path is

"C:\Program Files\SAP\PowerDesigner 16\Documentation\Printable Docs\business_process_modeling.pdf".

For point 2, see another thread raised just after yours - you need to use SIMUL8

Hello George,

Many thanks

In fact, the team is currently working in Power Designer - and wanted to know what if we shift to process modeling available in Solution Manager 7.2 as part of process management - i.e. are such functions supported in SolMan?

I think the original question was about the SolMan process modeling functionality, and is it comparable to PowerDesigner. I would personally like to know if SolMan 7.2 is actually using PD under the covers to render the process diagrams.
