When i'm opening certain report transactions (say ME5A), some of the selection screen fields including dynamic selections is populated with default values. Is there any settings to fix default values for the selection screen (other than variants) ? Also, is there any way to set a variant as default ? How to get the selection screen clean & empty without user default values (i.e except the system ones) ?.
In you SAP screen there is a button in right to Commond promt or small colourful screen icon left to HELP icon or press Alt + F12.Select the options -> go to local data tab -> Slect off radio button in history sub screen. Furhter help press F1 at radio button level.It will take you to SAP GUI help where it is explained clearly.
It's not about history. I've cleared the history, put it off. But the dynamic selections (created by & Req. date) in ME5A still pop up with default values, on opening ME5A.
I've also checked IMG side; there is no setting for such default values.
By default , when you open ME5A, it calls Standard Variant from SAP, try to remove the data and save again,check whick variant that it calls, maybe someone replace the SAP standard variant.
You are right. The custom variant created by me has been set as standard variant. How do we set a variant as standard ? Also, could you tell me sometging about the maintenanace of selection variables.
You can try to clear all selection and save it to variant name : SAP&STANDARD, i tried to save to the variant in my system,but i can't because i have no Authorization, I'm not sure, but you can try it Please consult with your basis team for this authorization.
Selection variable , generally can be use for dynamic variable for "date".ex: you want to run a report in bacground and need to schedule it with dynamic date, than you can use type of variable "D". Then select the "Name of variable', you can use a lot of option there.Please try.
