Maintaining commodity codes for materials without Fiori in HANA

we have just upgraded to HANA from ECC. In material master we found that commodity codes are no longer exisitng and the Commodity code field is greyed out. So we cannot enter commodity code in material master.

my questions

1) where has all the commodity codes created in ECC config has gone after migrating to HANA ? do we need to create commodity codes again in HANA in the path . IMG--GRC-define numbering schemes ?

2) we have read that the only way to assign commodity codes to material is to use Fiori App. but Firoi is not in our scope. So we need a way to update commodity code for each existing material and to assign a commodity code for a new material by the master data team.

I have read that tables \\SAPSLL..... stores material wise commodity codes when using Fiori to update commodity code for materials

can we directly update these \\SAPSLL... tables without using Fiori app thru a Z program ? if Yes, how can we update these\\sapsll.... tables ?

we think after the \\sapsll... tables are updated using Z program, we can see the commodity codes in material master ?

    Hi Sachin,

Some wording needs to be clarified first, it is not possible to upgrade to HANA from an SAP ECC because HANA is Database, and ECC is an ERP System. 2 possible options:

    - Option 1: Only the former "non HANA" DB was migrated to HANA and your system is still an SAP ECC ( EhP8 or EHP7)

    - Option 2: SAP ECC was converted to an SAP S/4HANA product either release 1511 or 1610

To clarify, can you please check when in SAPGUI, go to System Menu, then Status , then in "system data", Product version, use the magnifying glass. Check Tab "Installed system version" and let us know the result.

    Best regards
