Problem with differences in handling unit inventory

Hi all!!

I would like to know, How is adjusted positives differences in handling unit inventory?. I did an inventory to HUM storage locations. I found physically HU´s that does not exist in SAP and I need to correct it!. In HUINV03 I could add new position but just for materials and not for HU.

After reading through some OSS notes and docus I am pretty much the opinion that your case is not foreseen by SAP. The function that you referred to is only able to add a found material to an existing HU. Even this did not exist in the original design and was added later with OSS note 647933 - HU physical inventory: New material cannot be found

Maybe the basic thought was that HU Management is used in highly automated warehouses (scanner, RFID ...) where it is in general not possible that a HU could be found after the machines and devices had recorded that it had left your location and been issued in the system.

Finding HUs in WM physical inventory is as well not foreseen as you read in OSS note 1619321 - Error L3 785 in transaction LI11N

For EWM exists a similar note. In note 1619321 is said that you shall create the HU in HU02 transaction

Rethinking the situation, is not just that you found a HU, you also found the material on the HU. Both are currently not in your system (or do they exist in another location?)

Could you imagine and test this process:

Create the HU in HU02, then add the HU in HUINV02 to your inventory document, and finally add the material to the HU in HUINV05 and then post the difference.

The HU could exists in another storage location. I have been reviewing the HUINV02 and there is not an option to add the HU. I can only add a new position for material in a HU existing in Inventory document in HUINV03.

What happens after you entered the found material, or did you not even try this step?

Yes, but the system only allow me to add a new position for material and not for the handling unit. Is it possible?
