Drop and building index

Hello

How to schedule these two processes w/o using process chain?

Can we achieve this w/o process chain?

Delete index -> load data in cube -> Build index

Currently we are using infopackage group.

Yes,

In infocube manage -> goto performance -> select the index tab it will show one pop up here select delete index for full load and delta loads check boxex. when ever you load data to this cube using info pack a pop up will appear to delete index, say yes it will delete index before load and recreate after load.

In the "create index" button there is an option to delete index during full and delta load are available.

I beleive with these two indicator system will first delete the index and after load it will build again.

To automate this, do I need to schedule exactly before starting the upload job for infocube?

Also, in create index button, delete option is available. What does other button "Delete index(batch)" does?

Hi,

Here you have to select the check boxes, then when ever you load data to this cube system automatically prompts a pop up window at info pack level to delete index to load data after that it will rebuild.

We have job scheduled for data load. Popup will not appear in the background.

This option is suitable for Adhoc data load..

Pls advise.

Hi,

when you are scheduling the job in back ground it will display the pop up there itself, so here you have to say yes. if it is running daily means i havent tried it. but for back ground jobs we are using this at info pack level, if you are scheduling in background it will be good if you use process chain to auto mate all the processes.
