BODS 4.2 Support Pack 9 - Changing Number of Loaders when Loading to BW on Hana 7.5

Hi all,

I discovered an issue while migrating some Data Services jobs from 4.2 SP 7 to 4.2 SP 9. We have some jobs that use HANA views and tables as their source objects and they run through an integration and cleansing process in the flow. The target object is a BW 7.5 datasource. We increased the number of loaders in the target object to between 2-4 for many jobs and also increased the degrees of parallelism to the same number in the data flow settings to run parallel threads when loading the PSA tables.

This functionality worked for us on 4.2 SP7, and the results were very positive for our load times. However, when we moved these objects to 4.2 SP 9, our jobs would fail with an error to the likes of:

Piper error occurred: <The pipe has been ended>

Exception <ACCESS_VIOLATION> occurred

We have a ticket open with SAP regarding this matter: Incident 396843

Does anyone have any insight on why this could be occurring. SAP's initial comment was that the functionality working in SP 7 was a glitch, but now they are looking into it more with the technical team.

Thanks,

Evan

Hi Evan,

Could you please let me know the name and version of the database for SAP BW Target(PSA Tables)?

What happens when you decrease the number of loaders to 1 or 2? Is there a performance degrade?
