Start Condition & Check Function Module

Hi Experts,

I have the Doubt in Start Condition & Check Function Modules.

For Start condition, First the Event Triggered and then check the Start condition. If the condition true means the work flow will triggered.

But in Check Function Module I have the confusion. Is the Event first triggered and then check the condition using Check Function module or,

First check the Function module and then the event triggered?

Thanks,

    Hi,

The check function module will be executed only when an event occurs. In fact if there is no event linkage then there is no way of executing this check function modules. F1 help states the "Check Function module" as follows,

    <b>Definition: check function module

    SAP Business Workflow (BC-BMT-WFM)

A transaction used to prevent a linkage being triggered when an event occurs.</b>

<b>The check function module is called synchronously in the Logical Unit of Work of the event creator by the event manager directly before the receiver function module is called if:

An active linkage could be determined.

The name of a check function module is specified.</b>

In fact even when we include a start condition there is a check function module "SWB_2_CHECK_FB_START_COND_EVAL"that gets inserted automatically. You can check that in SWE2.

    Thanks,

      Yeah.Thats right.

This is because we give the "Check function modules" in the event linkage screen (Txn: SWE2). So this function module will get executed only when the event occurs.

If you have a requirement to block the event itself from triggering then i think you may need to check some other alternatives.

      Thanks,
