GLN # on Ship to

Hi All.....

User was trying to key in a GLN number on customer master ( Control data -> location code 1, location code 2, check digit) .......he was able to do it for some ship tos ...but for few it was giving an error invalid GLN.....

Can some one please tell me what kind of validations are there around these fields....do we need to follow particular format when entering these?

I pulled up a useful document for the internet called GLN Implementation Guide.

I have a question about how you entered the GLN into the Location ID.

Question 1

Why is this filed call Internation Location ID instead of Global Location Number?

Question 2

Why is this only 6 characters long?

The GLN number that we received from Wal-Mart 13?

Question 3

I read on ASUG that some companies are using the unloading point to store this field what do you think?
