Hi,

In a WebI (4.2) report, I've set an input control for a dimension that has over 100 list of values (LoVs). I would like to limit the user to select only 10 out of the 100 & thus, limit the output of the WebI report. May i please know how to achieve this?

Hi

  • prompts are filtering the data before the output of the webi (limit the data extraction towards the report).
  • input control/navigationfilter filters the data already loaded into the report. So you will not gain performancy by limiting the input control to a max selection of 10 values

H Giri,

I don't think we have any option like that. This feature is for user convenience to play with data in report however you can tell business to avoid performance issues, best practice like to max only 10 values from input control if they want to extract the data.

Thanks,

Durga.
