hi all,
As i am new to portal i wanted to get one thing cleared. whether portal visible to us is developed to make the front end as platform independent i.e. to make application available to us on web browser. If so whether it is just an html pages in XML format and whether those are BSP pages.
Hi Mohan,
You are correct. Portal provides a single point of access to the end user via a Web browser to applications, content, and services.
Through a portal, an end user can expect to see a complete business picture at a glance, created from multiple data sources, and integrated with many operational applications in the back office.
we can create the front end pages using webdynpro, Visual Composer, HTMLB or BSP.
regards,
Naresh

Thanks Naresh,
that was very helpful , i rewarded u the points too. now i have one more doubt if EP views are BSP pages or simply to say HTMLB pages whether the alignment of the UI elements and the color for the various level of navigation can be edited by simply editing the codes used to develop those pages
