what is the difference between logistices and SD
Hi
Logistics and SD are both related to the supply chain management
logistics is involved in the procurement of the mataerial to the invoice and
SD involved from the sales to invoice
Logistics is macro and the SD is micro in the logistics,
in logistics we have shipping ,packing transportation and production planning and the ware house management and the quality
SD is totally related for the order management in which the process is from the order to delivery to invoice and there ends the process
where as in the logistics we get the process starated from the planning of the mataerial and then selecting thesource of the material whether it is from the internally or externally procured and then purchasing of the material and then stocking of the material and then quality check for the matrial thenwhare house management and then delivery for the material for the customer and then invoice

hi
SD and Logistics are both the part of Supply Chain Management.
Both the concepts differ just in the areas of Sales
Logistics: is nothing but the process of Planning, Controlling, Procurement, Maintenance, Distribution of Material, Managing activities that are involved with Goods or Services is called as Logistics.. in SAP u can clearly see the difference while u check the img>enterprise structure > define> the tree view is clearly distinguished..
Sales & Distribution: is nothing but the here all the activities which are involved with the sales of the materials, say basically all the sales activities are covered in here.. here too u can refer to the tree view of img..
by seeing the activities involved in each of the Logistics and SD u can clearly make the difference between the both
Reward if Useful
Thanx & regards.
