-Zero Suppresion option in BW -Reporting

Hello Friends,

Could you let me know how 'Zero suppression' option works with reference to rowwise, columnwise and both Row and column wise.

Also, let me know where we have to do the changes i,e in the report displayed using context menu -- Properties or Query designer of the report?

Dear

Zero Suppression is used to suppress the rows or columns or both for values having null and zero values.

eg. Let take an example Plant wise 3 days sale. i.e. Plant in the row and days in the column.

1. Rows - Will not display the rows having all the values null or zero.

i.e. if any Plant is not having any sale for those 3 days then it will not come in that report.

2. Column - If on any particular day sale is zero then it will not show that day.

3. Rows and Columns - If both the values are zero it will show the report.

hi.. zero suppression can be set in query properties, zero suppression, active

when all column values are zero for a row, the row will be suppressed

when all row values are zereo for a column, the column will be suppressed

if you have structure in row/column, you have to set the property of the sturcture to allow zero suppression

Thanks for the reply.

However, could you explain me the options 1.None 2. Active and 3.Active (all values=0) under Query properties> Display tab> Suppress Zero Row/Column label.

COnsider example below.

Month/customer: Cust1 Cust2 cust3 Res

Jan 0 0 0 0

Feb 0 -1 1 0

Mar 1 1 1 3

Result 1 0 2 3

hi.. none will not suppress anything.. in ur example, all 3 rows wil come

active and active = 0 has a diff, active wil suppress rows with all zeros and all spaces as well.

active = 0 will supress only rows with all zeros..

in ur case both active and active = 0 wil give rows feb and mar only(results wil come by default)

assigning points is the way to thank ppl in SDN
