Hi,

Why I suggested the Delivery date to change, if we create the BOM on the same day and Purchase order on the same date, the delivery date will fell on the same date if we have not maintained any delivery days for that vendor,

Automatically the release date in the BOM components overview screen will fell 1 day before the delivery date.

Thats why i suggested to change the delivery date to 3 days after the Purchase order document date then system will explode the BOM so that the release date will fell after the PO document date.

If this does n't work lets the others will suggest some thing on this.

Hi Sun,

The release date is based on:

1) The purchasing department processing time defined for the plant

2) The planned delivery time from the material master record or purchasing info record

3) The delivery date

4) The goods receipt processing time from the material master record

For Ex:

Processing time Planned del. GR processing

Purchasing time time

Release PO Delivery Date

date date date required

Date required: 10.09.2007

GR processing time: 2 days (working days)

Planned delivery time: 10 days (calendar days)

Purchasing dept processing time: 2 days (working days)

Requirement date less GR processing time, planned delivery time, and purchasing department processing time.

Hope you understand, this is as per the SAP help.

what happen to u r query, if BOM is exploding please close this thread as answered

Dear Experts,

I would like to ask someting about BOM not exploding in subcon PO.

I created L-item PO and i noticed that BOM didn't explode. Just noticed it

after GR transaction since there;s no GI for that particular component. How come

that I was able to create the PO and save it? because if we create PO with item cat 'L' system is not allowing to save PO unless and until you put some items in components. Why this abnormality happens? This message appears when I tried to re-explode the BOM "NO MATERIALS WERE DETERMINED"

Hope you could help me

Thanks a lot.

Hi Sun,

System checks the PO date for the BOM explosion not the delivery date.

Check whether you are creating PO with after 8th sep,07 as document date.

Hi Sun,

Please Check the Delivery date of the Purchase order, Change the delivery date it should be more than the release date.Check the release date in the Components overview screen

Once you change the Delivery date system automatically change the Release date and the new BOM explosion will takes place.

lets try and confirm.
