i have installed the IDES on my pc.

i am creating lot of master data like materials daily for practising.

Is that consuming the extra space on my hard disk?

And also i want to know if there are different DVDs are available for the same version.i mean if install it from 2 different set of DVDs on two different PCs, all master data in IDES will be same or it may vary?

Also once it is installed, for how many days it will be valid?

Hi,

Not sure about the licence, I assume is valid for one month.

Regarding the space, the answer is "it depends".

Initially you have allocate a set of space on the tablespace.

Inside this one the objects will be created taking some space.

Meanwhile the tablespace has free space, you will not consume "extra" space.

As soon as the tablesapce runs out of free space, you will get an error.

Also, it is possible that the datafiles are set to autoextend. In that case, the tablespace will grow if space is needed.

You should check this on the DB02 Transaction

You have to request a license to SAP

Yes - you will need to create a contract with SAP to get a valid license.

IDES is NOT a free system for "home use".

I´m not sure if SAP gives contracts to individuals.

Usually, you will need to contact your sales rep (for your country) and make a contract on which products you use, which database is used etc. for a license fee and a yearly maintenance fee.
