While logging in to SAP BusinessObjects, I got "Could not reach CMS" error

We have SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform installed. It was working. This is our prod system. But today, everyone is getting this error while trying to log in to the Central Management Console:

Account information not recognized: Could not reach CMS '<ServerName>:6400'. Specify the correct host and port and check for network issues. (FWM 20030)

On our QA system, it is working fine. With netstat.exe, I see that the server is listening on port 6400 with the CMS.exe process. But on the prod system, I don't see port 6400, even though the CMS.exe process is running.

I tried restarting the Server Intelligence Agent (SIA) and the server without success. Does anyone have any suggestions or know how to troubleshoot this? Thank you.

Henry

Do following.

Go to CCM,

1) Check if your CMS database is running.

2) Check your CMS database connectivity with odbc.It should be connected.

3) Stop SIA. Go to properties , configuration and update your database , keeping same settings. If you are not able to stop SIA then go to task manager, stop java.exe and cms.exe. Preferably stop cms.exe first because java.exe might keep restarting automatically.

4) Start SIA.

5) Login from manage servers in CCM after about 4 minutes.

In our case, the transaction log was full. After backing up the transaction log, it is working again.
