Active company code validation

Dear All,

In my client they have one controlling area and four company codes under same controlling area. Currently company code validation in controlling area is inactive. They use IO, cost centers and WBS. When inactive company code validation we can assign one company code IO/cost center/ WBS to another company code. But now my client wants to restrict assign one company IO/Cost center/WBS to another company codes. So now I am going to active company code validation to my controlling area. Before that I want to know what are the inconsistencies which can be occurred when active company code validation from the inactive situation.

Thanks,

Regards,

Lakshan

Try changing the message KI/100 to 'error' via OBA5.

Hi,

The effects won't be retroactive... you won't be able to post in company code B on cost object belonging to Company A, but that's it.

Hi Eli,

Thank you for your answer. I activated company code validation to my controlling area. Now my requirement is ok. It blocks when assign one company WBS/IO/ cost center to a another company. But when create plant maintenance orders there is a field as WBS element. In here before set the company code validation we could to assign any company WBS to another company. After set the company code validation the situation is same. But I want to block this. So when create plant maintenance order how can I block assign one company WBS to another.

Thanks,

Regards

I see... Well try changing message control as I suggested. In PM, I'm not sure if this validation is active.

Hi Eli,

Thanks for your suggetion I don't have any idea about changing message control as you suggested. Yes I also have a doubt that it is active or not in PM.

Thanks
