Warranty service order

Hi,

I have a warranty service order (copy from SM01) scenario. I know I cant create any revenue in this kind of scenario. I am trying to link my sales order ( debit memo request to my service order). I am getting the error message as:-

"No cost management is provided for sales document item 2050000842 000010

Message no. IX057"

Please advise me on this

Warranty Indicator


Definition
In a service order, this indicator determines whether the part or service to which the item relates is covered by a warranty contract.

Use


If the warranty indicator is selected, you cannot bill the customer for the replacement of the part or for rendering the service. You will have to recover the cost from the manufacturer through warranty processing.

Integration

When this indicator is selected, the system:

· Creates a warranty claim for the service order item

· Updates the warranty claim when you change the service order item

In Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service you can maintain the precise trigger point for claim creation and update respectively for each service document type, by choosingMaintenance and Service Processing ® Integration of Service Processing with Warranty Claims ® Warranty Triggers and Enhancements in Service Order

Hi Sail,

Thanks for your reply. Please answer some of my further query based on your reply:-

1) Warranty Indicator needs to be set- Please tell me where. Because I am maintaining the warranty details in my equipment master.

2) Regarding Integration- I am not able to find the IMG path that you have mentioned for integrating service processing with warranty claims and the subsequent trigger.

Please reply me on this.

This is usually because there is no requirements type assigned to the contract item
