In Transport directory - Data file starts with R and Co-file start with K

At OS level, we can find co-file and Data file under Trans directory

Actual difference is,

Co-files -> contains control information of the Tr. It also contains change request information files with complete details

Data files -> contains data information of the Tr. This also contains actual values and data to be used in implementing the change.

while tr,

if rc > 8 then look for problem with datafile and cofile

check for permission

check data creation, size

cofiles is... a control file (nothing to do with Oracle's control file). it contains information about the state of the transport. the cofiles' contents can be viewed by a text editor (but do not try to change anything in it!).

Filename always start with a K

datafiles contains.. data... all the changes are in these files.

filename usually starts with a R

Hi,

Data file contains actual change data.

Cofile contains information on change requests (different steps of a change request and their exit codes).

So you will find cofile of same size for all requests.
