What is ICM?

what is ICM and what is the process takes place in ICM projects. pls give me any documents other than help.sap.com

    Hi Siri,

    I assume you are talking about the Internet Communication Manager. This is the dispatcher, messenger and thread handler for HTTP, HTTPs, SMTP, etc protocols within the application server of SAP NetWeaver. It replaces the old ITS that provided HTTP/HTTPs handling in the past. It also adds new functionality that were not possible through ITS like support for web service calls, BSPs, SMTP mail, etc

    This provides services for both the ABAP and JAVA runtimes and should be configured for the required needs. You can find all the configuration needs on help.sap.com -->

    What type process is going on in ICM? and Technical people can do what type of work in ICM.
