To use Funds management for managing budgets and executing it, you need to first create an FM area with the currency of the company code you intend to use for and assign the company code to this FM area. You can link more than one company code to an FM area.
Within the FM area, you can subdivide the organization into Fund centers (similar to cost center, but not necessrily the same). Fund centers indicate where the transactions are happening.
What is the nature of the transaction is determined by creating Committment Items. Comm. Item can be a revenue of expense type. You can assign directly postable commitment items to the G/L accounts or cost elements relevant to Funds Management.
