hi debasish ,

by products are produced in conjunction with main product &no seperate order is created for by product as against where in seperate order is created for co-productand is settled to other receiver .apportionment structure is specified im mrp view which defines how the costs bteween main product & by product are distributed .

the cost of co-product is reduced from the order cost.

e.g of by -product :- during processing of crude oil , tar ,grease &other products are generated as a result of the chemical processes so these unplanned products r called by products .

pre-requisites :- the by products r listed in billof material of the main product with -ve sign

thanks

what do you mean by by product

in SAP there are two definitions for by product-

Byproduct-product is produced along with main product and does not share the cost of prodcution as the yield is very less compared to main product

Co product is produced along with main product and share the cost of prodcution as the yield isconsiderable compared to main product

which one you are asking about?

Hi,

For by product you need to definein Bom as - ve qty.

While creatin prodn order against the reservation no thru movement type 531

do GR.

By product is a product that is produced along with the main product

The system does not create separate order item for the by product

The material valuation is always based on the price specified in the price control

in the material master.

Also ensure that "clear open reservations" indicator is not selected when you do confirmation of the prod order.

Regards,

nandha
