in sales order, what is schedule line

hi i m new to SD, pls tell me

in a sales order created, i can see multiple line items,

what is the meaning of having multiple "schedule lines"

multip[le schedule lines means multiple delivery dates depending on the availability of the material and holidays system automatically proposes the schedule line dates which are nothing but delivery dates

Hi,

A sales order can have one or multiple line items. As far as schedule line is concerned it can be defined as under:

<b>Schedule line</b> - A division of item with respect to delivery date and delivery quantity.

For a sales order item if there is no <b>schedule line</b> then that item cannot be delivered. When you create the sales order, double click on the line item and go to schedule line. Here for that item you will see details like delivery date, order qty, rounded qty, confirmed qty, delivered qty. While you create a sales order if for a particuler item there is no entry in the conirmed qty column then this sales order cannot be delivered.

<b>Mulitple schdule lines:</b>

Suppose a line item is having order qty as 20. Today there is stock of only 10. Remaining 10 pc will come into stock on 12/09/2007. So the system will determine 2 schedule lines as under:

07/09/2007 20 20 10

12/09/2007 --- --- 10

The 10 pc will be confirmed for today and the remaining 10 for 12/09/2007. This can happen for all items in the sales order.

Unless and until the schedule line is determined the delivery cannot be delivered.

Hi sudeep,

To see the schedule lines for each line item, double click on the item, you will find a schedule lines tab, click on that, you will get to see the schedule lines for that item......

In the schedule lines u'll get to know whether the ordered quantity is confirmed or not and if confirmed then for what date

Hi,

Schedule line in a sales order contain the delivery date and the quantity to be delivered. We can see the schedule lines in the order itself. Go to the order select the line item, click the schedule line button below (normally 10the button from the left) Like graph).

The items in a sales document are divided into one or more schedule lines. These schedule lines differ from each other with respect to date and quantity.

Different control elements are also defined for the schedule lines. For example, for some schedule lines, material requirements planning is not carried out; for other schedule lines, it is carried out. Also goods receipt, not goods issue, is posted for a schedule line defined in a returns document.

how can i see the schedule lines..............

i mean to see how to view the schedule lines in the sales order document
