Hi

We are in 6.0 (R/3) and need help with the following problem. We get forecast data in a XL sheet which undergoes revision before it is finalised. Now, the problem is how can we transfer this finalised XL file into demand mangement (MD61) screen? Any help is much appreciated.

We tried to create a infostructure at MC21 similar to S076, but the key figures does not have the qty - we added to it. Are we in the right direction? How do we add the period(month or week or daily) fields? How do we transfer data from this infostructure to S076? Because S076 will not have the new key fields we added? Please help...

thanks

Hi Brian,

Forecast data to DM can be done the following way.

1) Create a Infostructure similar to S076 and add desired key figures.

2) The planning periods can be configured in MC7F, can be in Months, weeks or days.

3) Use BAPI or a Z-programme to upload the forecasting data to the Infostructure

4)Why do you want to copy this infostructure data to S076, simply transfer it to DM.(Select Key figure which you want to send it as a Forecat value).use Mass Processing methods we can transfer all the data in one shot.

PLease let me know if you have any issues.

Thanks to everybody for their answers, much appreciated - I'll award points without fail. However, I need further clarification on certain points of this issue. (1) Uploading through BDC program to call MD61 is one of the options, but I'm looking for a user exit or a BAPI to carryout this job. I'm a bit apprehensive of BDC programs post go live when the end user has to run the program - can have probelms. (2) The infostructure S076 is one option that could solve this problem, but copying this infostructure is not clear to me because this infostructure does not have the quantity key field - without which, how can I load the quantity values from the XL file? I'm I missing something ?!! Pl give more details or directions.

first, S076 is having qty fields alike production and sales which you can use.

Why are you doing the calculation in XL, this can be done in SOP...just a suggestion.

Hi Brian,

Option 1.Create a BDC to populate the XL figures with call transaction MD61

Option 2.Instead of creating a new info-structure goto transaction OLIX and create another version of the same info-structure S076 (that will save a lot of effort on ur part)and then write a bdc to upload the data in the inactive version....go with the revision and use the same transaction to copy the inactive data to the active version. Now u can go to MC76 goto extras and transfer to demand management

Hope this helps!

Hope it helps

Dear Brian,

1.For creating PIR's or to copy the forecast values ,in

MD61,after entering the material,plant,click on

Reference button (or else Press F9),in the pop up

window, select the radio button for copy from material

forecast,press enter & proceed.

2.You can give the input of PIR's in MD61 on Monthly Basis and further you can

split into weekly buckets or daily buckets.

3.For splitting Monthly values into weekly one's,select the material row and the

column (monthly value) and click on Edit -

Period Splitting -

Weekly Split,then

automatically the values will get splitted into weekly values.

4.The following is the help given by SAP

Copying a Forecast

Procedure

Select Material forecast and choose Continue.

Define the reference and choose Continue.

You can change the reference in Change reference values by changing the following parameters and choosing Continue.

– Planned quantity

– Postpone

– Percentage

Display references appears. You can check the reference quantity.

Select a reference, and choose Choose.

The reference is copied to the current material.

Select the item, and select Schedule lines.

Result

On the schedule lines screen, you can check and change the quantities and dates.
