SAP XI Database Refresh Issue

Hi All,

I just wanted to know if Database Refresh between two environments allowed for SAP XI/PI.

I have the following Questions :

1. Is Database Refreshes for XI recommended by SAP?

2. I found a SAP note 784465 which speaks about this but in a different context. How relevant is this note?
