Field "Contact person" in XK01, MK01, FK01.

Hi,

in SPRO "Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Vendors)" and "Define Screen Layout per Activity (Vendors)" is possible setting the field "Contact person" in "General data" so that the entry

could be:

-Suppress;

-Req. Entry;

-Opt. entry;

-Display.

The field "Contact person" is being configured so that this is a "Required entry" , but nothing doesn't appear in Vendor master.

How activating this field?

Dear,

In SPRO "Define Account Groups with Screen Layout (Vendors)" --> select your account group and then there're 3 field status in standard, choose "Purchasing data", select group -Purchasing data , You should see "Name, tel. (salesperson)", just tick it as required and save , then try again.

I'm sorry, You can do it in "define screen layout per activity (vendors), Create /Change vendor - general data - Contact person. Set its as required

Or, please try this, go to tcode OMSG, select your acc.group, then double click on the general data then contact person-> set it as required.

I set in OMSG the field "Contact person" as required but when I execute XK01, MK01, FK01 nothing appears....

Dear sap,

Please try this, go to MK02, enter a vendor with acc.group that you set, is there "contact person" selection under General data tab? if yes , try to change the data for contact person and when you clear the value,then the required mark will show up.Then when you create a vendor using MK01 with ref to the acc.group , then system supposed to prompt the contact person tab to be filled.

I had an issue with contact persons for vendors as well. if you are attempting to set this up as for customers then this is not possible. Please refer to SAP note 309659. Even when you set the field in customizing you wil not be able to use this functionality for non retail systems. I had to use classification to accomplish this.

You need to create a class and then add characterstics using CL02 and CT04. This is under the central functions sub menu in Logistics.If you are not very familiar with these then you may want to ask the PLM person in your group maybe?

nobody knows in my group about Class and Characteristics.

I used it in PO release procedure but now I can't understand

how using with the problem "Contact person".....

The class type for vendor is usually "010". Under this you can created contact using CL02. For this you can create several charecterstics- contact name, phone, fax etc using CT04. Depending on how many contcts are reqired ie Sales contact, marketing contact etc you can create that many classes and correspondingly charecterstics.
