Adding more capacity to SAP ABAP instance

Hello Gurus,

We have production PP1 ECC 6.0 EHP7 system. In this prod system we have five application servers. Each application server have below configuration.

DIA - 55 and BTC-25. So total count for five application servers is DIA-275 and BTC-125.

CPU-6x5 and RAM-62x5 GB

For this production system we have a non-prod system NP1. In system NP1 we have only two application servers.

Each application server have below configuration

DIA - 15 and BTC-10. So total count for five application servers is DIA-30 and BTC-20.

CPU-6x2 and RAM-47x2 GB

Now we want to make NP1 system exact copy of production by increasing CPU and RAM same as production PP1.

by requesting to OS team I can get the hardware size matched to production. But I am not clear how perform work process memory allocations. What parameters should I change?

Which database parameters I should change.

I need some guidelines to achieve this configuration. Please share your valuable inputs.

Thanks and Regards.

Sujit

Is there a reason why you wan't to make the Q environment memory and CPU same like the P system? Regarding the application servers, you will need to install another 3 more as you have 5 app servers on production. To configure memory you need to set the memory parameters in the same way like they are on production. As there is no indication of what the database instance is, I cannot be specific here. If you have an Oracle database then you will need to reconfigure the processes and sessions and also the memory parameters. You can compare the profiles of SAP and Oracle with the production instance and copy the values.
