IDM Upgrade to 8.0

Hi,

I am planning to upgrade my IDM to 8.0 from IDM 7.2 SP9 I am using 2 connectors: SAP and AD. I am going to create a new Installation for the IDM 8.0 and migrate my config.

Does any one already make this upgrade? No Upgrade issues for these 2 connectors?

And how long should we plan for the upgrade?

Thanks,

Ben

    Hello Ben,

it's not easy to say how much time you should plan for an upgrade like this (better take more than less), because it depends on a number of parameters like:

    - What is your upgrade strategy

    - How complex is your current configuration

    - Are you going to use a different database (adopting of scripts can consume a certain time)

    - Do you use global constants/variables (they're not available in 8.0 anymore --> again adopting of your custom scripts and other workarounds)

    Hi Ben,

Many organizations have done the upgrade and both connectors are fine (although you don't specify ABAP or Java, both are fine. HANA also has some new functionality in 8)

How long will it take? That depends on your implementation. There are some prerequisites to consider, such as the fact that you need to be on IDM 7.2 Patch 10. But mostly it will depend on database size and infrastructure.
