Handling unit resources in Transportation cockpit - Gantt Chart

Hi,

is it possible to display the Handling Resources and their availability / assignment status on the Gantt chart of the transporation cockpit ? And assign a freight unit ?

(Sorry I have no access to a TM system so trying to figure out possibilities)

Dear Delphine,

No it is not possible in standard SAP to display handling resources in the transportation cockpit and subsequently display them in a Gantt Chart. This is because TM is a transportation management system and handling resource can also be part of a WM system, so this is somehow a grey area, maybe in SAP EWM it is possible to display e.g. reachtrucks in a Gantt Chart . The 'only' resources you can display are Trucks, Trailers, Schedules, Drivers, Locomotives, Railcars and Containers. To be honest I think it is really a hard task to get some idea about the(im)possibilities of SAP TM through this forum, my experience is that TM has got many functionalities for many scenario's. Below I placed a link to one of the latest SAP TM books, maybe this is a good first step to get an idea of the SAP TM functionalities.

Another idea is to get access to an IDES sandbox(although I believe it has got a different name nowadays) and I don't know if it exists for SAP TM.

Dear Delphine and other readers, my apologies, I got it wrong! It is possible to display handling resources at a certain locations in the gantt chart. Go to SPRO-> Transportation Management -> Basic Functions -> Gantt Chart -> Define Layouts for Gantt Chart. In the views you will find for example the standard View "SAP_HRES_AND_FO". Subsequently create a Layout with this view. As a next step you wil have to embed it in your cockpit, create a new one or adjust an existing one by seleting application administration -> Planning -> General settings -> Page layouts -> Page Layouts for transportation cockpit and enter the layout with the handling resources under the Gantt Chart Area. You will see the handling resources for the locations in your freightorders in the Gantt-chart.

Hi Benno,

I have an urgent development so i need some help about this case. My requirement is that, i want to show just the freight orders (not VFOs) under resources view. As of now, i can see them in Gantt Chart but i can't take the VFOs out. VFO bars overlap with the FO bars beneath. Could you help me with this case? My mail is: mustafacengizde@gmail.com
