Hi,

Do we need to transport the Roles along with the workbooks every time we create/Change the workbooks?

Everytime you change workbooks and queries, you dont have to transport roles; just the workbooks and queries.

But if you have inserted any new workbooks or queries in the roles, then you have to transport roles .

In addition to that: if you make changes in workbooks only,then transporting wokbooks will be fine without queries.

Hi,

I got one role and I have 5 workbooks in the Role and I have transported the Role along with workboks to upper landscapes. I deleted workbook1 from the Role in Dev and saved the changes as local object. Now if I transport the Role again, does the Workbook1 gets deleted automatically in upper landscapes, as I saved the deletion changes as Local object in Dev!

No.Not really..You have to transport roles along with Workbooks first time..

if you just change workbooks,then transportation of workbooks is enough.But if you create a new workbook in role or any changes to role menu,then you have transport role as well.
