SAP Fiori Launchpad Performance on Startup

Dear SAP Community,

We are currently introducing the SAP Fiori Launchpad for a customer and the issue of the startup performance has arisen. More specifically the start of the (1) SAP Fiori Launchpad itself (marked red in the attached image) and the load of the (2) sapui5 core library (marked blue in the attached image).

(1)The image shows the Launchpad being started for the first time. The time distribution of the request as shown in the image: orange is the wait time and teal is the Launchpad html document being transmitted.

Is there any way to reduce the processing time on the server represented by the orange bar?

(2)As the customer has branches in location that have very slow internet connections we are currently operating under the assumption that the ~2MB, marked blue in the image, will lead to very high load times for the sapui5 core library.

Are there ways of reducing the transmitted size of those library or other ways of around the size (negative for slow internet connections) of the sapui5 core library?

Note that those two questions are specifically aimed at the start of the SAP Fiori Launchpad itself and NOT the start of Fiori Apps inside the SAP Fiori Launchpad.

The System is a ABAP Netweaver 740 SP10 with the SAP_UI Component being 750 SP05.

Kind Regards

Hello Christian,

Loading SAPUI5 from a Content Delivery Network (CDN) might be the solution for both of your challenges.

Best regards
