Opening Multiple Accounts with Same VAT Number or One sold to party but multiple ship to addresses

Good day

I need to know what the implications are (if any) to open up multiple accounts with the same VAT or Tax registration number.

Is it also possible to have one Sold-To party but with multiple Ship-To addresses but each must have its own allocation? The allocation as an example is different Sales Agent or Employee resp. for each Ship-To within the Partner Functions in customer accounts?

In our country we have 3 separate sales areas but some customers are based within all three areas but will have one account in one area. Thus the sale goes to the area where the account is opened but the actual area that did the sale looses out or gets no recognition.

This plays havoc with budget planning, stock reservations etc

Sorry but you lost me somewhere in the middle as it started with one thing and moved to something completely different. You might want to clarify what the question and challenge is exactly. In many cases though simply trying in a test system is the simplest option.
