Hi experts,
Iam facing few problems while working with MDM console and data manager.
1. When i tried to access the MDM server of my neighbour which is in the same network connected through PPTP connection, i could not access it. It shows that the server is locked. How to resolve it?
2. When i tried to use data manager i could not get connected to my repository, it automatically goes to the repository which belongs to the server of my neighbour as a default one. What is the reason for it and how to resolve these problems?
Thanks,
Kannan.
Hi Kamal,
Ask you neighbour wether he has changed the user id or password for the console; if so get them; else they will be same as userid: Admin and no password. Just right click on the console and select login. you will find the locked symbol going and a green symbol appears.
for you second question where is your repositroy; is it within your server or your neighbours server; if its in your server just when logging into the DM just change the server by selecting the button next to it and select your local server; then you will be able to access your own repository..

Cherry

hi kamalakannan,
if you want to access you neighbour server, you want to enter the you neighbour machine IP address in console when you are mounting to MDM server.
if it shows the server is locked, first check with version of your neighbours MDM server and yours version, if there is any version difference also it will show that server as locked.
check that whether server is running in your neighbour machine or not.
you said that your data manager is getting connected to your neighbour server as default.
check the following things
when you double click on the MDM data manager it will ask you to select server and reposistories on which you want to do maintance.while selecting the server and repository confirm which MDM server name and repository names you are entering, whether it is ur neighbour or yours
second thing confirm the version of your MDM data manager and your neighbours server.
i thing the above points will help you
still if there is any issues let me know
thanks
