Is it necessary to assign Costing Variant to Plant in OPL1?

Is it necessary to assign Costing Variant to Plant in OPL1 if it is only for Standard Cost Estimation and not for Actual Production Order?

We want to have separate costing variant which would not be used for production order and would be used only for Standard Cost Calculation Purpose.

So is it necessary to assign it to Plant or without assigning it we can use it in CK11N and CK40N?

Dani,

The variants of cost are configured in CO at the controlling area level, very apart from the valuation you want to perform in your plants, you can then use your variant costing for X or Y plant, this you can configure in the tcode OKKN . Regards

Thanks for your reply.

So If my Costing Variant configured using OKKN which would be used only for Standard Costing purpose and not for valuation purpose then no need to assign it to Plant in OPL1?

Nishad.

Nishad,

Right, you don´t need to assigne it to Plant X or Y in OPL1, this function in the CO-PC is relevant for Cost Estimate, if you check OPL1 not exist any Field Data for Plant, maybe you need check OKK4 this is for Valuation Variant for Plant .
