Hi All,

How to get a certification SAP NetWeaver '04s SAP BI ? Is it required to have prior certification for this?

Hi,

You should have prior experience in SAP and should qualify for the certification as specified in the below document:

There is no need to have prior certificate to appear in BI certification.

Is it really necessary to have prior experience in SAP to any SAP certification. I am from BPO background with 7 years of experience. I want to do SAP BI certification. Please advise if it is suitable for me. If not, please suggest which module I can choose to get into SAP.

Hi Jyoti,

First of all I would like to make one thing highlight that you have background of BPO in which you must be earning from 40 to 50 K.If you will get into SAP you will be considered as fresher with package compromise.

Its not necessary to have prior EXP to do certification.You can directly take training and clear the certification but you fees will be high.

I need some more clarity for this certification. Since I am working as Group leader, I have working knowledge of data management, workflow management. Will this help me in SAP BI. As far as I know SAP BI is related to data management, please correct if I am wrong. I want to know more about SAP BI. What exactly we study and work in SAP BI? Also if available, please share total certification cost with exam fee?

Hi Jyoti,

Oracle 10G is not mandatory but most of process is done via SQL queries like select * etc.SAP BW is nothing but extracting data from any system loading into bw system and give reports to the customer.Work flow will be beneficial if its only related to sap work flow.

Hi Jothi,

SAP BW with ABAP is good combination to go with, as Mayur already specified that you might be earning about 40 to 50K in your present industry, It will be difficult for you to get into the job as opening for fresher is very less.

In workflow management, I have worked on process flow mapping i.e, process steps from A to Z. Also I have worked on managing work volume within given time, planning of daily volume drive. On data management, I have knowledge of all necessary data of a project, example- Team Performance tracker, SLA reports, Billing reports etc..

Please let me know if you need any more information about my profile. Also, I would like to add that I have done green belt six sigma and preparing for black belt now. Will it give any benefit to me in SAP?

Kindly suggest, If I go for SAP ABAP first and then go for SAP BI, will it help me getting a job with less compromise with salary?

Hi Jyoti,

Since in BW we give reports to the Customer which can be like Sales,Billing,Marketing,Finance Etc your profile says that you know already about Reports like Billing,SLA etc.

I would advice you to get some Functional and Technical knowledge for SAP BI.If you are familiar withe this then do SAP BI.

SAP NetWeaver BW 7.3 - Practical Guide by Amol Palekar is a good option to go for since it covers not only Technical but Functional concepts too

Could you please give some more information about getting functional and technical knowledge for SAP BI? Should I go to some unauthorized SAP training institute first to get some knowledge of SAP BI and then go for certification?

Also, I wanted to know about certification cost for SAP BI. What would be training time in days? Will it benefit me if I do ABAP first and then SAP BI? Ultimately, I want to go for SAP BI, in this case is it required to get trained in SAP ABAP? Please suggest.

Hi Jyoti,

You can directly do certification by going to Institute like Siemens,Atos,Lithan etc.Fisrt you will have trainning of around 2 or 3 months then directly you can sit for exam.You can get functional knowledge by reading thread of SCN.

I have consulted Genovate for my SAP certification. I have sent them my resume and after checking my resume they told me that i can go for certification but they can not give assurance of job placement. As I have already mentioned about my profile, please suggest me if it will be difficult for me to get into SAP BI job. Also, just wanted to add, my highest qualification is graduation. I have not done my PG yet.

hi guys,

i am writing BI 7.0 exam and spoke to the SAP center in feltham office regarding certification exam. So they told me that new exam pattern has been introduced globally for most of the Netweaver stuff including SAP BI 70.

According to the new pattern the passing marks will be 56% of whole exam and you will not get any mark if you have answer a question partially, means in if there are 3 correct answers out of 4 , you need to select 3 of them to get mark for that question (there is not negative marking though). Where as we use to get mark for answering a question partially.

Hi pradeep,

At present market SAP fresher getting nearly 5 lacs +, No need to worry about that, confidence is more important to any one and we should add the patiency , time spending and intrest also as masala then it would be a successful carrier life.

If you are intrest then go ahead

As per market statistic package for fresher will be from 2.5 to 3.5 pa depending upon the requirement.

In some cases you may get more too...
